The material used for welding protection depends on the degree of protection and the intended use. The material and strength of the welding shield is chosen according to how welding sparks and welding spatter hit the shield and how long the spatter remains glowing. The most demanding protection is the dripping of large splashes on the horizontal protection. In this case, the splash can remain glowing for so long that it passes through the fabric intended only for spark protection and damages the devices or cables under the protection.
